You are going to love this hoodie! I started with a base of stretch
orange-ish corduroy I picked up in NYC last Fall. There is also
hand-dyed hemp/organic cotton in the sleeves, and more cotton
corduroy in the hood, roo pocket and along the bottom. I've lined
it in a green leaf print quilt shop fabric, which is also used in the
drawstring for the hood. There are button tabs at the hips so you
can bring this in a little to keep your bum warm.
The back of the hoodie features a beautiful landscape scene of
the mountains I remember so clearly out in the Western US.
These highways that cut through the rugged mountains were what
brought me to the beautiful Southwest that remains dear to my
heart. I used a deep brown corduroy for the tree and hand-dyed
fabrics for the rest of the scene.
The scene depicts a tree that was originally to be cut down by
deforestation. But someone saved it, and new growth is already
appearing in the tree and along the ground, with new seedlings
sprouting.
